Ted has the idea for a global brand while fishing and in 1988, Ted opens his first store in Glasgow, quickly followed by stores in Manchester King Street and Nottingham Exchange Arcade. He also opens Womenswear shops in Leeds and Covent Garden.The first continental franchise in Zurich opens in 1994 and helps Ted branch in to Europe. Ted Baker becomes a public company.
